Although I suppose that's what happens when you throw your muffler in the dumpster and then drive around for a week.
It is hilariously loud. I plan to record some sound/video before I put on a new one.

So, apparently, does a windshield, fender chrome, tassles on the handlebars, highway bars, bags, a sissy bar, leather chaps, a leather vest and pink earplugs.
Sorry, Harley-Davidson mid-life-crisis owner bashing over.

Tell me about it. I live in Milwaukee, the home of H-D. Nothing like waking up to a hundred or so of them drunkingly cruising by on the freeway next to my house at 2 AM. Or 4 AM. Or any damn time of the day. At least I get a break during winter. I laugh my ass off when a bunch of them overheat during their anniversary parades.
I am hypocritical, however, due to the fact that my FOXBOX's muffler system is 13 inches of rusty pipe coming off the cat and nothing else. I do try my best to keep things peaceful when I drive it during night hours though.
I can't bash Harleys too bad. If it wasn't for the business they do with the company I work for, I wouldn't have the job I have now.

that's nothing
my exhaust has steadily fallen apart for the last six months
the transmission mount for the exhaust? yeah, it goes three inches after that. one hour of driving makes my emergency brake hot to the touch.

How about no exhaust at all? Mine's detached from the heads. Sounds like a WWII fighter.

Just a downpipe isn't that bad. You hear less rattles that way.

try just sticking a resonator tip on it. thats what i did to mine, cut the muffler off and put on enough pipe to come to the back of the car. then put a resonator on. its sounds beautiful

Ive been driving without any kind of muffler for at least 6 months
I love it.
My car doesnt sound like anything else on the road. All my friends know Im about to arrive from about 2 blocks away.
Once I get my tranny back in, Im removing the cats too.
Im also going to be running a 3" downpipe with a butterfly exhaust bypass once I get my new turbo in.

When I do my turbo project sometime in the next 274 years, I'm going to run a 3" downpipe all the way out... no cats, no mufflers.

want to hear mine? or will's 3.5"?
The GL wagon I had before had no exhaust from the downpipe back. So everytime i would drive nothing but fumes all up in it. It was the loudest thing i've heard when you stepped on it. Sounded like a straight piped diesel truck. too bad i started getting nose bleeds from driving it like that.

yeah, the reason I threw it in the dumpster was because it was rusted out and starting to fall off/apart. I'm having a shop down the street put on a generic flowmaster or whatever they have after work because my ears seriously did start to hurt and I got a headache on the way home last Thursday.
Or I guess I could wait until tomorrow and do a little run through the 3rd street tunnel with the video camera tonight if I can find it.
