I might be needing a transmission, so I'd like to have one lined up at a reasonable price. Anyone have a 5MT turbo tranny for sale? How much are you looking to get? Hook a Legacy brotha up :)

It'll be hard to find one in tact. As you know, our trannys aren't all that strong so if there is one in good shape, it could fetch a couple of bills...

If the tranny is working Ok that's not too bad.. Had to rebuild one to PGT (all stock) spec a couple of years ago, and it was $2k + in parts.. That's a BIG OUCH! Most of which have to come from Japan.

And it lasted about one and a half days on stage before it lost first and got stuck in 2nd..

that's rediculous!

Contact frantic four up in tacoma. They'll hook you up with a low mile JDM 4:11 Turbo 5-speed for 550.

Yes, those JDM 4:11s are good deals, and even harder to find than the 3:90s. Even harder to replace when they go, since no US turbo cars had 4:11s. Also, you'd need a matching 4:11 rear diff, and most likely axles (newer style to match RS/OB) if you wanted LSD. Many of those JDM trannies are minus diff for that amount.

Thanks guys but it's OK... the 3.90 turbo tranny is almost in, should be ready tomorrow if everything goes right.

Well - I retract my previous statement. The mechanic got to puttin the new tranny in and realized it's got a cable clutch. I tried to warn him he needed to make sure it was from the turbo AWD Legacy... so I still need a 5MT.

So... I'ma gonna contact Keith here. Hopefully I can get a matching 4.11 rear diff for a reasonable price.

So.... if I get a 4.11 rear LSD with axle stubs, will I then have everything I need to make use of the JDM 4.11 5MT? Or will I still need something else for the LSD to work?
