93 SS swap into 95 L. Its supposed to allowed the ECU to shut down properly or something.

Is this the solution? I didn't have the self shut off connected for months, an then today I decided I'd hook up a few annoying things like the rad fans and coolant AND self shutoff...
I took it out for a blast, works great, but after turning it off it wont start. I'll get it sorted out in the morning but do I really need that diode?
