Help wanted please. I have a 1994 Legacy twin turbo, the check engine light comes on after about 80 miles running and car goes into a shutdown mode, it will not rev over 3000. I turn it off then on again light is out and all is well for next 80 miles, this is continuos running not stop start. The car runs fine with no apparent problem while light is out. I have run the manual trouble code check and get code 66, I can find no reference to a code 66. Have rechecked twice and always get same code can anyone help please.

You say it's twin turbo? Does that mean it's JDM? If that's the case, they may have gone to OBDII sooner than the USDM cars did.

You said your car is a twin turbo. There were no twin turbo cars released in the United States. They were only released in Japan as I recall. And, if that's the case, then your car's computer is probably different than what you find online.

He's probably in new zealand. That's the other spot where the twin turbos were sold.

Gwyneddcraft sound like a Welsh name? Are you in Wales?

I've heard that in England code 66 means your car is haunted by the devil himself, beezelbub...

No, really, but good luck finding out...

Cheers,
Adam

Code 66 is "Twin-Turbo System"
In the trouble shooting flow chart it lists:
(Start at 1 and go until the problem is gone)

1 Check by compulsory valve function mode

2 Check the piping of the piping control sole
noid valve.

3 Check the piping of the inlet control solenoid
valve.

4 Check the piping of the relief valve

5 Check the layout of the positive pressure for exhaust control solenoid valve hose

6 Check the piping of the differential pressure
sensor.

7 Check the piping of the primary turbo waste
gate valve hose.

8 Check the differential pressure sensor

9 Check the piping between the solenoid box
and the surge tank.

10. Check the adhesion of the primary waste
gate valve.

11. Check Turbo inlet duct

Thats a BIG Code. Good Luck
BTW My last name is Gwin

I will say the above is for newer twin turbos, so you may not have all those features. Which will make it a bit easier.
