I had an extra block I bought a LONG time ago, and all the parts are here.....
So 2 1/2 hours ago I started building a replacement engine.
Rod and main bearings are in, and so are the pistons. I am using a turbo crank, rods and pistons from a closed deck block that I sold. The turbo pistons are all "B", and the current block has ABAB pistons so I am taking a chance on two of them.
I should have the motor just about ready to go in by tonight......

Got the DOHC heads on. Busted one head cover bolt.

Tapped it out, but I need to find another weird bolt like that. I also need to find 4 head cover bolts that would normally go where the coil pack bolts go.
I will install the manifold tommorrow and try to solve the throttle body problem, which is that the 2.2 body doesnt fit like the 2.0 does.

Ready to swap!
Bought a new pressure plate and throwout bearing, just hoping the disc looks ok....
I will have to swap over the injectors, the flywheel, alternator and crank pulley, I think thats it!

Its runs!
It drives!
I broke the exhaust header and its really LOUD!
And worse......I installed all new clutch components but must have screwed something up (suspect I installed the disc backwards) and so I need to pull the motor in the morning. Fuck.

All it was, was an old clutch cable combined with a resurfaced flywheel. Doh!

Bolts? What bolts? Damn thing is just swinging for now.
I suspect zip ties will be doing some work tommorrow. And I am currently using blue painters tape as electrical tape right now. HAHA.
I was given some Type N (?) motor mounts. THEY DONT FIT!!!!!!! You have to cut the nubs off. What a freaking hassle.
But...."Almost" everthing is working now. Its a matter of cleaning up the little things.
But I am going to make it to WCSS8!!!!!

Why don't you just use a turbo block and supercharge it?
wait...that would be too easy!!
