OFFICIAL GT3/GT4 Tournament - Round 2

Apparently I get to set the rules for this round so here they go:

Unlimited Class
Impreza V5 or V6 STi
V6 can be bought brand new in GT3. Old STi's can be found plenty in one of the used car garages in GT4. Make sure the version you get weighs 1270 kg (Ver2 weighs 1240, so no go).

There is only one rule for modding, no NOS in GT4. Other than that, go nuts with the car. I think this is fine because some people will actually tune their car to go slower or to be less stable. :)

Midfield Raceway
1. 1'06.749 - Brat4by4
2. 1'08.554 - bmxkelowna
3. 1'10.200 - Imprezive
4. 1'09.916 - stipro
5. 1'11.093 - legacy92ej22t

Stock Class
Legacy Touring Wagon GT-B (GT3) or
Legacy Touring Wagon 2.0GT (GT4)
Both of these cars can be bought in the dealership in each respective game. They both have 276 hp and weigh 1430 kg.

Mods are limited to Chip, Med. Race Tires, and Brakes. A little horse and some safety items. ;)

Midfield Raceway
1. 1'20.725 - Brat4by4 (2.0GT)
2. 1'21.063 - legacy92ej22t
3. 1'21.766 - bmxkelowna (2.0GT)
4.
5.

Remember screen shots if you can get them (especially if you take the number one spot).

And some driving tips so we can hopefully even out some of the competition for the non-performance drivers:
1. You must use the whole track to be going your fastest.
2. Look up something called trail-braking.
3. Learn what suspension settings do what, and only change one variable at a time.
4. Your racing line is much more important than your actual speed. You can go 20 mph faster through a section than another car and be passed by the slower car.
5. Slow in - Fast out of corners. Just not too slow. And slideways is rarely if ever the fastest way. No matter what the car... if you are not full throttle through turns 2 & 3 (big s-bend) you can forget about a top time.

Post up your times and I will update the first post. Have fun!!

supersoft racing tires
stage3 turbo
racing intercooler
racing brakes
racing suspention (only lowered it so far)
full custom tranny (lower auto setting)
tripple plate clutch
racing flywheel
carbon drive shaft

Did you do all 3 stages of lightening? A certain suspension settings MUST be heavily tweaked. First-Last-and-Only clue about that.

I'll hopefully set a new time with a screen shot tonight. And I can't remember if mine is a sedan. Probably not.

oh we can lighten it! i thought it was offlimits since you were talking about weight lol time for an other go

Same starting weights. No mod is offlimits except for NOS. If GT3 had it, I'd include it.

Try the stock Legacy and get some times.

Read it and weep people. Hopefully no one beats it cuz I'm at the tricky point of tuning to get tenths off.

Now with this baby...

I can pull these kind of times after 2 warm up laps, no NOS. I ran the analyzer against my STi time and every corner except for one the Corvette was 20 mph faster through the entire corner. And this car hits over 35 mph faster on the straights. All that with twice the horsepower for 7 more seconds. I'm pretty sure I have pulled 57 second laps, I must have shut the machine off without letting it autosave. I had witnesses there that I was pulling consistent 58-59's.

Well, I really don't have enough money going in my game (I refuse to sell any cars) so I can't do a full modding but I pulled a 1.13.101 with the V5. stage 3 turbo full custom trans, semi race suspension and medium racing tires. I have stage 3 weight reduction but I didn't do the roll cage or refresh. Stage 2 clutch ect..

I'm sure I could pull much better times if I had the cash for full mods.....

Yeah, I doubt that is really going to help you. My times go down as I turn those down... You can compensate for the electronic nannies by turning one of the suspension settings up. :smt112
