To recap. my car has a heating/overheating/loosing coolant problem. Hoping to come across a used 2.2 to do a poor mans rebuild and slide home.
In the mean time I found this

Would this fit in my car without any major revamping?
Not interested in rewiring, reworking drivetrain, or welding things.
Once again. my rig is a 1990 subaru Legacy L N/A 2.2 with a 4EAT transmition.

It will bolt right up, but there may be some driveability issues going to the smaller displacement. You would use your intake manifold, including your wiring harness and just bolt that to the engine.
But I would say hold out for the correct engine for your car...

Yeah, his NA 2.2 motor complete. 170k smoked a little. Isn't his car a 90 also? I really don't know for sure but Jake 15 or Tris ricer should chime in.
I think it's just what you need for a rebuilder. Can you put turbo legacy crank, rods, and pistons in these? If so I have those around if they would help too.

I'll keep it company until you can come up and get it.
Whenever is fine with us. Give me a heads up when you have a time figured out but it's currently ready to go.

The engine came out of a 91 fwd sedan. Its a run of the mill 2.2NA 170k is about right, but I'm not sure of the exact mileage.
I don't think the mileage is that big of a deal, as it was definitly under 200k. That motor shouldn't give you any trouble at all, I know it had plenty of life left for what you can expect of it.
Frantic Four is a worthy, honest, Gold-Class seller/dealer/installer/gods of Subaru and aftermarket parts. I live and die by the Frantic Four. Don't hesitate to do business with them!
In conclusion, the engine is in decent shape, and will suit your needs nicely, especially if you're just looking for a quick replacement.
