3000 miles, '93 SS towing my '91 SS

I've been joking with the idea of using my wife's 93 SS to tow my 91 SS from NW Washington to Chicago. Does anyone think this is feasible? Does an SS have the balls to pull a full car trailer and would it be totally unsafe?
Haven't seriously considered it yet so....

I bet it would be unsafe due to tongue (sp?) weight/suspension and braking issues.
What about your buddies' truck?

I'm moving, and I'd like to not have to sell one. A rust free SS in that region could fetch a pretty penny.
How's your project, done yet? Did you find a better tranny or did you have the one I sold you rebuilt?

Regardless of whether or not it's safe, it's not legal.
You'll get pulled over and ticketed before you've gone 50 miles

you will ruin your transmission in short order....either be it bearings that get torn up in the differential, the output shafts, etc, all due to the heat and the fact they are not designed to tow that kind of weight. Even people in full size trucks burn up there transmissions all the time on cross country hauls.
How would you like to be stranded in the middle of no-where,. with a tranmission that is shot in the car. Tow bills are not cheap, say if you had to get it towed 100 miles to a person who is willing to work on subarus. And then the cost to fix the transmission, time spent finding the replacement parts or replacement tranny.
It would be a HUGE gamble/risk.
But if you get broke down on I-80 in iowa, i would give you a helping hand, and I have spare parts.

My project will never be done.

I found another trans but I may put in yet another one. Buying used is waaay cheaper than getting one rebuilt with a new gearset.
Have you looked at shipping the car via transporter? Probably expensive, but you had a few cars last I saw.

That's probably where I'm headed, towing 1 Legacy with another is out of the question now. Thanks everyone!

And the max toung weight on most Subaru trailer hitches it only 200lbs, and the gross towing weight is only 2000lbs!

Remember dude, Canada's traffic laws aren't the same as the US...it's not illegal to tow an SS with another one, but not a great idea, thats for damn sure!

seriously?!
In canada, you get ticketed if you try and tow anything above the vehicles listed max tow rating
