well i looked at the donor car im getting yesterday, and its in really good rebuildable condition. just needs a head gasket and some exhaust lovin but it is i great shape otherwise. question is, can i save this awesome work car from going to the automotive grave by putting my old auto trans into this thing when i pilfer its 5spd? im not sure if the wiring exists on the chassis to control an auto. my guess is it dosent and it would require a body harness swap to make it work...... tell me otherwise

i think in the least you will need:
1.TCU-transmission computer unit, and the wires associted with it.
2.The wiring harnesses for the transmission housing
3.Shift lever, linkage.
4.Possibly the instrument cluster for an Auto car, as it has 2 led lights and it will need that for the computer to allow the transmission to know when/how to shift. The cluster for the auto tranny has the lights for Power/Maual mode, so it has to be tied into the TCU and the ECU as well.
5.Probably also need the fuseable thing for the tranny as well.
6.Different driveshaft is needed too.
7. **** The biggie, you need to get a Radiator for the Automatic, and it is specific for turbo as well. The automatic radiator has input/output for the ATF fluid cooling. You will also need the cooling lines for the ATF, they are mounted to the driver side front frame rail, consist of metal lines with brackets, and normal hoses that are gasoline retardant. ATF eats rubber.
someone else add to this list or edit please.

(i know i would have to buy a ecu)
