What year Forester?
You'd probably have to change over to 92-94 rear strut mounts, as I believe the strut mount bolt pattern is different on Foresters, and therefore the stock Forester strut mounts won't fit your car unless you feel like drilling into your body.
This will likely raise your car... is that what you're looking for?
Thanks

You still haven't really told us what you're looking for. Are you doing this to raise the car, or just to get an AWD swap? Getting parts from an AWD legacy and converting it that way would probably be easier than going the forester route, but then you won't sit as high.

Oh, that. You might be able to, but you'll likely run into some hiccups.
It appears that the diff mounting changed in the early Imprezas. If I remember correctly, our cars' diffs mount to a bracket which mounts to the rear subframe, but the newer cars' diffs mount directly to the subframe with no bracket in between. Therefore, if you buy a rear diff from one of our cars, it likely won't mount to the rear subframe correctly.
As n2x4 said, it would be easier to get an AWD BC/BJ Legacy parts car for a swap.

ok the thing is that i live in Puerto Rico and i have a lot of trouble finding bc/bf parts since there arent so many over here. And im asking this question because i have a friend with a wreked Forester i think is a 98 and i wanted to use some of his parts. As for the diff i im using a wrx05

yes, you can unbolt the whole rear subframe from the forester with the diff still on it and bolt it into the legacy. the problem will be with your gear ratios.

Yes, so if you tried to swap in a Legacy diff, you'd probably run into the mounting problem that I talked about.
But then again, if you're doing an AWD swap, then you're gonna change the transmission anyway, so if you want to go this route, just get the transmission out of the Forester you're pulling the rear subframe off of.
forgot something
