14" stock steel rims and 205/75R14 ?

I have a '94 legacy wagon and I've been told that mounting 205/75R14 tires on the stock steel 14" rims was a good move for the coming winters snows.

Does anyone have a tire size recomendation for 14" rims to raise the car a little without rubbing for winter driving? The tires/wheels would stay on the car year-round.

Looking at Yokohama Aegis LS4 which comes in:

size Dia dia diff

185/70SR14 24.2 0
185/75SR14 24.93 .36
195/70SR14 24.75 .27
195/75SR14 24.52 .66
205/70SR14 25.3 .55
205/75SR14 26.11 .95

Any thoughts as to how each size fits.

205's would not be good for your stock wheels, which are 5.5" wide. They're too wide.

You have 185/75-14's if I remember correctly for your stock tire size. That said, the best size to get for tires if you want to go a little wider would be 195/70-14.

Looking for ride height rather than width to keep the body off the snow and ice.

I'm looking for wider rims in 14 or 15" too.
