Feeler for paint.

I'm doing the bodywork/paint this winter. My uncle has offered his services and I want to nip the little bit of rust I have in the bud. He does damn nice work. He's got over 30 years in the trade.
I'm debating what color to paint it. Right now it's boring white. While I could keep it that way, I like the silver that came on my '93 alot. But to be honest, the Leggies I've seen here with the World Rally Blue are IMHO damn hawt. That blue really floats my boat. I could also add some pearl to the stock white, but I REALLY like the blue.
FYI I'll be using PPG paints seeing that's all my uncle works with and swears by it. That and he can get me a deal.
I'd like to know what ya'll think. This isn't going to be the final decision, but your input is very important to me.
P.S. - That blue on the "Quick Legacy RS Liberty" is really nice. If I could get the paint code for that I'd get a can made up to see it in person.

Rally Blue screams "PULL ME OVER!!!" to police. My vote goes to pearly white.

Oh, I love that blue.......but like said, cops will pull that over in a heartbeat.......in addition, the ricers will be smashing into it everyday to pull out your stereo junk, wheels, guages, etc......cause that will for sure get attention, even jusst parked in a parking lot.
So, leaving it white will be better unless you are going to show car.

how much is a little pearl in the white paint going to be? if its not too bad I say go for that one.

umm.. cops pull over cars that speed and drift thru school zones, not blue cars. I vote crystal grey metallic.

Cops pull over cars that attract attention. Driving a bright colored car with big chrome rims and/or what not, draws attention. So if you speed or do, pretty much anything wrong, they are already watching you.

Yeah, the cop factor has me a little worried. I've got away with a lot of shiat that I shouldn't have. Bling bling blue might end that streak.
I really would like to keep it a sleeper too. I always suspect the hawt-colored cars in my rearview. I could always school the fools in the Fox though, but that has it's limits.
But dammit I'm in love with that freakin blue! I mean, really really in love. I want to buy it dinner, take it for a night on the town, get it all liquored up, and bone the shit out of it until it's screaming my name. I want to have babies with that blue. And Splinter, all you're doing with those pics is teasing the hell out of me.
<insert Howard Dean scream>

I'm also toying with another idea - Diamond White Crystal or something of the sort. That's what comes on a lot of Lexus cars. Sparkle sparkle, fresh fresh, clean clean. That might give my uncle some troubles though. I'll have to talk to him about that.

+1 For the Metalic Green idea, or the Silver. Won't attract cops too much and still looks good.
Of course I've always been a big fan of a high gloss black with gunmetal five spoke rims. Tint the windows as dark as you legally can...

Tint is a given. Though the front windows have micro scratches on the inside from the felt pads. I'm not sure if that would be a problem.
Anyways, I'm leaning towards stock white. Blue would create too much attention and I need more of that like I need a hole in the head. If I paint it another color, there will ALWAYS be those few spots that didn't get color. I don't want other people pointing that out, much less me obsessing about it. That, and it will probably cost less and take less work.
But I still LOOOOOVE that blue!

you could save yourself an enormous amount of work and cash by keeping with a like white color. Pulling the motor ( or at least all of the stuff attached to the engine bay then bagging the motor ), the doors, decklid, bumpers, headlights and so on could be spared by picking a nice white. Just my two cents being from the autobody trade.

....but then again...if you love that BLUE then just do it! You only have to do it once!

Yeah I really have a thing for the blue. What I'm afraid of is all the trouble and attention.
It's kinda like a stripper. Yeah they're fun to look at, but you really don't want to take one home. They'll quickly find a way to spend all of your money and other guys are always watchin, waiting for a chance to snatch her.

nicely put. haha. I sure as shit wouldn't mind going home with the stripper every night. Thats just me though, I'm a whore.

Me too. But like that Dr Dre song goes:
"So what you found you a hoe that you like
But you can't make a hoe a housewife"

I love the forest pearl that my L came with. Dark green in sunlight, looks black at night or clowdy weather. It was only sprayed in '93 amd I've yet to see another one wearing that color. I think I might add some of the gold flake that is in the java black pearl when I paint mine in the spring.
