Most of the kenwood remotes are universal. I have one you can try.
The Legacy has a X569, where my Maxima and the Impreza have a 50?? model and the remotes were the same.

i think i have that exact remote somewhere, from when my deck got stolen. let me look for it and get back to you. how much do you want to buy it for? Its the D-mask model right? The code unlock is done with the radio buttons, you dont need the remote. I should have the instruction manual too.
dumb f888ers who steal my radio........

actually from what I've read and been told you can not unlock it without a remote. You can type in the password, which I have, but you need the remote to "enter" afterwords. Hoaky eh? I'd love to try that Kenwood remote you have dscoobydoo! Where are you? Kent or Spaokane? I'd drive down to Kent this weekend if I don't get it fixed before then and if you're not busy. Thanks guys!

all you do is enter the 4 digit passcode, hit the arrow over button which you used to jump from digit to digit, and then it unlocks. no remote needed.

that may be true for the security code that the original owner entered initially, mine on the other hand is a second hand unit givin to me by a friend who does not know the code. I need to use the Kenwood security reset code, which requires a remote.
