Tire pressure

I have some Pirelli Pzero Nero M + S tires on my car currently. The max pressure is 51 psi, but I was running them at 34 all the way around. For an autocross day I raised them up to 40/42. They gripped a lot better and it made a noticable difference. Since the tires are such a high max rating, should I be running them that high on a normal basis as well?

I would run them at 40. I run my stockies on the 14 steelies at 42 and I run them on the track at 50/55

With raising the pressure you're going to get a harsher ride, and might reduce overall grip if the tires are ballooning. However you may not really notice it until you get some miles on them, and see how they wear.
You'd probably be alright around 40.

Second that. Up the pressure for performance driving. + 10 percent front and back 40 front 36 rear? Might could back off for daily driving...

Don't forget though, that it's best on the drivetrain to run 2 more psi in the front. That basically evens out the circumference of the tires from front/rear, because the front tires have to carry the engine.
I run 32/30, coz that's what the plate in the door calls for. On an autoX course, I run 40/38.

I run 40 to 42 in my Proxes 4's. Max rating is 55 I think.
Feels good to me, and gas mileage FTW.
