message board issue

I don't know if this thread should be in Misc or Ashtray but:

I need help in fixing how my computer works when I do a search or send an email, etc. After opening up a thread while doing a search, I attempt to go back to the list of threads to go to another thread. But instead of having the list of threads displayed, a white screen displays "Warning: Page Has Expired" and I have to click on the Refresh button, then on the Retry button. This started happening three days ago and it's so time consuming and gets bothersome after a while.

Is there some setting I have to reset on my computer or can any of the moderators fix this for me?

Thanks for the help!

Your cookies are expiring. Are you using firefox or IE?

Hmmm, why would the cookies expire? They never did before. I don't even have to stay in a thread a long time. As soon as I go to a thread then try to go back to the list of threads found, like one second later, the warning message still comes up.

I don't have Firefox. I use the msn browser, not Internet Explorer.

(isnt the MSN browser = IE?)

Check under your Preferences or Settings whatever it is in your browser... go find the Cookies tab or settings section... and see if any of the settings there make partial sense of this issue. Maybe try changing one thing at a time and then going back and browsing the board, see what (if any) setting change fixes it.

BTW I highly recommend Mozilla Firefox 2.0 as a browser.... its nice to not have open backdoors on your computer when you're browsing :)

Just open up the thread in a new window. That is the easiest solution. Then you always have the original search list there.

+1 for Firefox.
You can open the threads in a new tab, as well as set links that would open new pages to also open in a new tab.
