I read all the pages that they had, pretty informative. How valid are the points that they have there? I'm pretty convinced that they're right for the most part. I think there is a bit of opinion in some of the articles, but I think it was some good Subaru info. Anyone have anything to chime in on?

Gosh, I forgot about that site. The writing style is quirky but he has some good things to say. The main trouble with it is figuring out which car he's talking about at any given moment since he tends to jump around. Don't agree with his swaybar accessment but his alignment section is spot on...

I think he is full of shit about how you can't make the Legacy feel as good as the Impreza and whatever...
They are the same parts, #1, and I honestly prefer the feel of the Legacy over the Impreza...that's why I have one

A lot of that stuff is ancient and has proven less than reliable over time. Mike's a nice guy, and I met him at SEMA in 2000 with some guys from NASIOC for at meet. His experience at that time was very useful, but the Subie community has expanded exponentially since then, and it's just a whole different world. There are many more experienced sources out there, though the information they have isn't as easily accessible as SPD.

Agreed,
I've dealt with Mike since 98 or something like that. At the time, the info he had was very helpful. But time has moved along, things have changed, and the last time I spoke with Mike (some time last year) he was pretty much looking to retire. I don't know if he was closing up shop or just down-sizing the business...

I think there is a lot of great technical content there, and frequently link to the sections about lightweight pullies and flywheels. I do think there are some things there that are outdated, and his approach to tuning the "recently arrived '02 WRX" is pretty damned conservative. But he was definitely a great source early on for JDM WRX info when noone else in the states knew which way was up. And while there are items in the article that have later been shown to be incorrect (and again too conservative) this open deck closed deck article from Toadnet is one of the most cited and quoted articles ever in Subaru tuning...
