If I were to swap in an N/A trans into my SS I could still use my turbo clutch setup, correct? I remember seeing pics of someone swapping the hydrolic clutch setup onto an N/A trans but now I can't find it. I just need some verification. Thanks.

the turbo tranny pressure plate is a pull type, and it will not work on the NA tranny which is push type.

Other way around, I think

Turbo is a push, NA is a pull

Yes, I realize the difference, but I'm 98% sure I read about someone here that swapped all the different parts over onto the N/A tranny. What exactly would stop me from using the hydrolic/pull type setup?

The only way you can swap between cable and hydro is if the clutches are the same type.

Hardy (THAWA), last I remember, had a 98 RS tranny in his Legacy. Originally setup for a hydro clutch, he said the spot for the pivot ball was there for the cable fork, right next to the one for the hydro fork. Thus, he was able to use a cable-style setup.

But, the tranny he used was still a push-style. If you want to use an NA tranny in your SS, you'll have to get one like Hardy's, and you'll have to get the hydro setup from that car.

Ultimately, just use the correct tranny. Or, if you're having trouble locating one, use a WRX tranny and rear diff.
