I bought my 90 leg from those guys. Great to deal with. They love subies.

They have some cool pics of that leg.

Let's take one of the best engines Subaru ever made, and put one of the worst engines Subaru ever made in its place.

uhhhh define "worst"
ej25 has a lot more going for it performance wise than the ej22 and with mls head gaskets is no worse off reliability wise.

cool car.

EG33 = worst?

I mean, it was a monster, but had a lot of issues.

I'd say ea82t or the justy 3 banger, or maybe some of the really early engines but thats not really fair.
the ej25 is a hell of a motor. just because a bunch blew headgaskets at 60 thousand miles doesnt make them inherently unreliable. they really are one of, if not the best NA 4cyl for making power. I mean the heads flow 260/180 cfm box stock with a .345" lift cam. thats tiny. there are aftermarket V8 heads with bigger valves that dont flow that well at .5" and greater. the valvetrain can spin to 8k, big cc for a 4cyl, etc.

How was the EG33 the worst engine? It showed no worse for wear than an equal mile EJ22. That's all it was, was an EJ22 + 2 cylinders.

that leggy has a wing, WAS it an SS??? or did they just swap the trunk lid?

the car, is a 92, and i see a few things of interest in the pics.
turbo trunk lid
turbo seats from a 93 or 94
turbo front grill
the CAR is not originally a turbo, I spy the antenna on the roof, not the normal rear quarter.
also, the dash is blue, and no turbo ever had a blue dash. So.....its a "mutt" mix of many cars.

The 3 banger doesn't count for me because it's not a Subaru engine (Suzuki) and the EG33 had a lot of reliability problems, from what I hear from SVX owners. Leaked oil, broke down more than your average Subaru engine.

is it actually suzuki, because I know that the particular motor in the usdm justy is not shared by any suzuki, totally unique to the justy(too bad you cant just bolt a turbo swift motor in a justy). maybe it was made by suzuki though...

I'm pretty sure the car was made by Suzuki. I doesn't have Subaru AWD for sure. Just electronic 4WD.

What kind of engine related break down problems? No more than any EJ22 or EJ25. I hadn't heard of head gasket problems either.

Hmm, that one has me stumped.

That guy's Forester is totally ridiculous. I gotta find out about the bumper... and the lift, which is the biggest lift I've ever see on a Forester. I wonder if he just spaced the wheels out far enough to clear the spring perch...

He custom made the bumper and the lift. It is a body lift like most ej/ea cars. Not sure about the perches. He custom made the lift on my wagon too. These guys have a shop and they only work on subies.

The leg sedan is probably a mut for sure. My wagon is. 90 leg L auto, turbo hood, turbo brakes, 93-94 impreza front axels ,d/r 5spd out of a gl.......... etc.......... . The guy doe snice work though. I was impressed when i started nitpicking my wagon.

He has a pristine gl wagon or 2 in the shop that are going to be futire projects. suposidlt(sp?)One is going to be running 33" tires with a different transfercase, and a built ej25 turbo.

Somebody will be getting a mechanically sound car for sure.

Hey BTW BAC5.2 . This is OT but.........Do you work at Andrewtech? I need to get with them on a 5spd ppg set for my wrx.

I do work at Andrewtech :). Call and we'll set you up for a transmission.

Do you have pics of your wagon's suspension? I'd like to see how they did it. I e-mailed them, but I'm not so sure on how quick a response I'll get.

I want one of those bumpers for my Forester!
