Car sits higher with WRX struts and springs

I just had 02 WRX struts and springs put on the 93 SS and the car sits about an inch higher. It looks like an Outback Sedan.

I thought the WRX stuff actually would lower the car not raise it.

It handles a lot better but it is sooo much higher.

Any idea what went wrong. Or is this normal for it to be this high to start with?

I put the entire front assembly on without any problems. The correct spacers were used, the top hats were put on the WRX assembly so it bolted right up. I just cant figure this one out.

From what I've seen from misc. posts...it's normal. Check out the stickies and search, and you should see roughly the same thing.

The mounts on the WRX are higher, therefore using their springs in our cars raises it.

Im running that setup on my car.

hmm. STi suspension lowered my car nearly an inch. I think an STI is only like 10mm lower than a wrx. I suppose your car is lighter though.

How old were the struts you took out, the ones that you got the car with?

When I put the GR2s on my car with the original springs, the car sat higher because of the fresh new struts.

Fresh new struts will bear more of the weight themselves, and take some of it off the springs, and that will naturally bring your car up some.

Would you mind taking a picture of it?

Happened in a friends RS. Lifts it. It was actually pretty cool.

The struts were original from the factory. I'll get some pics soon.

I actually dont mind now that it has settled a little bit. Its still high but after the snow we had this week that might not be a bad thing.

Thanks
