Igniter grounding?

Does the physical mounting of the igniter matter? Who ever did the ic install on my new wagon mounted the igniter upside down and I want to mount it with the plug on the bottom to prevent water from sitting on the plug. Not sure if I need to mount it to a metal surface or not. pretty sure there is a ground going to the plug already but not sure if it would help to have the body of the unit mounted to ground.

Thanks

I never mounted mine to anything when I moved it. I have it zip-tied to the big wiring harness that runs right there.

Yeah, it doesn't matter how it's mounted.

ahh well I ended up cutting its original bracket and mounting it on the back side of it and using the 90° bend in it to sit it nicely down under that tower there in the middle for the trans mount. too late for pics because the ic is back in. Thanks guys
