He was one of my best friends, a guy that I've known since kindergarten, depression got him after 22 yrs. He's saying if you don't expect much, it's hard to have a bad day.

I do believe that he was onto something though...in that you can't let life's ups and downs get to you

Thanks, he was pretty damn funny when he was alive.
