Wondering if I can swap my brakes off my 97 GT to a SS?

Do I need to do the calipers and brackets? Are the 2nd gen brakes any upgrade vs the 1st gens?

You will need the calipers & brackets.

The rear brakes on the SS are vented, so they're better.

The fronts should be similar/same as the SS. I'd have to look.

Do you know the size of the BD setup?

The BD should have 10.7" fronts while the BC will have 10.9s. It's not an upgrade to swap them, so far as I can tell.

I just want to clarify to people that may stumble across this thread later. I am, and I'm assuming Dave is assuming you're referring to a turbo legacy.

Also, Dave, just curious where you're getting your numbers from? The numbers I have indicate that the 2.2's w/ abs have 10.24" front rotors, while the 2.5's w/ abs have 10.91" rotors.

yea 97 GT to 93-94 SS. I have Power slot rotors, Hawk HPs pads and Goodridge ss brake lines. I rather have the rear vented rotors on the SS than the non-vented power slots.

Hmm, interesting Josh.

I guess I assumed that the BD/BG/BK GT models had the same size front rotors as the BE/BH. Cars101 says that the 97 GT had 10.9" fronts, while the 2000 had 10.7", which is weird but wouldn't surprise me, as the 00 had the H6 rear brakes to back it up.
