jdm ej20g legacy specs and tranny specs?

I tried searching a good 10-15 minutes for the specs on the ej20g bc5/bf5 jdm engine and tranny specs. I would like to know the cr, hp, tq, and as much info on the motor and the 5spd tranny of those specific years. Tranny info like the gearing and final drive. Any reviews of these motors and trannies would be great too. Thanks

Tranny final drive is 4.111
Gearing is very similar to the USDM Legacy Turbo Tranny.
The Automatic EJ20G's are 200hp and the Manuals are 220HP
That's about all I can think of at this time...

^^ Exactly what Nick said. The TQ is almost the same as the HP. It is a 2.0 Litre DOHC, closed deck block. (Very strong) The heads are very free flowing (comparable to USDM WRX heads). The EJ20G's equipped with auto trannies have the VF-10 turbo (200HP) The EJ20G's equipped with Manual trannies have the VF-8 turbo (220HP)

Slight correction.
Only the sedans had the different turbos depending on the transmission. VF-8 for the manual, VF-10 for the auto.
The manual sedans with the VF-8 turbo were badged as the RS. The auto sedans with the VF-10 turbo were badged as the GT.
The wagons are different. They had the VF-10 for BOTH manual and auto. And they were all badged as the GT.
The rest is correct. 2.0 DOHC closed deck. Oh and they came with an AWIC.
Do you want pics of a stock one in a manual GT wagon?

I thought you'd be more miffed about not getting an intercooler.

no air/water intercooler
no glassheadlights with the city lights
no projector foglights
no rear wipper
no momo steering wheel
i think the aus (liberty) back end looks better (black in the center not red.)
uk got better colours (that cool grey and nice red)
north america sucks for cars haha

Hehehe
My wagon has:
-Motorised drivers seat. forward, back, up, down and tilts back and forward.
-Adjustable intermittent front wiper (vary the delay between wipes according to how much or how little rain is coming down).
-Electrically adjustable folding wing mirrors.
-Passengers sunvisor has a mirror with a light inside.
-Interior light has a time delay of a few seconds after the doors are closed and the light slowly fades when the light goes out.
They also have a very basic form of keyless entry for in case you lock the keys in by accident. Something to do with lifting the drivers door handle a certain number of times like a code.
Also the roof interior is cloth, not that plastic vinal crap. Compared to my N/A Legacy wagon, they are almost night and day!

only the wagons here get the adjustable intermittent front wiper so i took the wiper stalk and put it on my sedan

Yay for New Zealand! I have all the above in my Sedan. Gotta love those JDM options.

RE: The original post/question,
I currently run an ej20g block on my daily driver, with stock USDM legacy turbo heads, intake, and wiring. I suppose one would notice the difference between single and dual cam, (smoothness, etc) but I will attest that my block is damn near bulletproof.
Why, just yesterday I replaced the plugs (running a colder plug, fwiw --bkr7E11) and decided to do a comp test, as well. All four checked out okay I think, as I tested them one by one.
After the new plugs went in, I had an errand to run anyway, so me and my homeboy took a freeway trip, with boost. 8-9psi, we're doing goood.

An 5 series comes swooping from the left rear, and of course, we wanna cruise, too.
10-11psi, 12psi, 13psi on the gauge. . . POOOF!
All four cylinders compression tested at once, and let me be the first to tell ya -- the ej20g block can handle boost, my turbo to TB pipes can't!
If you can't manage to find the ENTIRE ej20g setup, I say go with just the block and wrap stock turbo stuff around it. . . it makes for a nice punchy daily driver combination.

Somewhere around '93 they stopped using closed deck engines on these cars. I have purchased a number of these takeout engines and they are not always closed deck...

I concur with this. If you search this forum, you will find my write up from when I built one of these about 2 years ago. Part of the punch is that it's right around 9:1 compression withe the Ej20G block with Ej22T heads. It's definitely a fun little set up. I am thinking about doing one here in the near future and running off of an Ej22T ECU...
