HOLY JAPANESE HIGHWAY ROBERY BOY WONDER!

So I was at the dealer today (hmmmmm.....lot full of shiny new STI's (wipes drool from chin)) to pick up my shifter bushings when what do I see on the counter, free for guys like me who cant resist cool swag and who grew up in the days of the Sears Christmas catalog? Why it was a SPT/STI performance and accessories catalog. So I casually thumb through it while waiting on the bandit in disguise to return with my parts. So what do my eyes behold............? Why its the STI steering column mounted boost vac gauge. Well now, I say to myself, this would be a great upgrade for my current gauge. And so I left the parts department with this thought tickling the back of my mind. As I walk outside I stop once more to drip saliva upon the virgin glass coat of a dealer upgraded STI. Curious, I look at the listing sheet on the window and glance over at the upgrades. Low and behold, they have my boost gauge and they only wanted a pittance of $495 US! A small price to pay to have a piece of the great and mighty STI installed in my car, dont you think?!

It was listed in the dealer installed upgrades on the right. I cant believe it, even with labor written in.

No, thats the suckier part. Its quite small and sits in an oblong pod on the left side of the column. It matches the interior but looks like an eBay item. (not knocking ebay). It was on all the STI's in the lot.

Because it reads in Kilopascals!!!!!
If I ever get an STi, I will be certain it DOESN'T have that gauge. It's ugly, and doesn't fit the STi at all!

You sure that wasn't with labor included? Because I show list price for the part as $237.

I got that spt booklet too. Kinda neat, but way too expensive for everything. Fun to look at though.

Shell kill me when I tell her that those expensive tidbits will have to be painted black to add to the stealthiness!

I love seeing STI's or WRX's with all pink underpinnings. It's so cute... in a sick and perverse kind of way.
