EJ22 Feeler

I've got the EJ22 that came out of my Legacy sitting in my garage, and I'd really like to get it out of there. However I'm really not sure what I could get for it or what someone would be willing to pay for it. I'd rather sell it to someone that could use it, rather then scrap it.
I'd be selling it as a complete long block. The compression was good when I tested it before I pulled it and put in the turbo motor.
So I'm looking for suggestions as to what I could sell it for, and if anyone would be interested.

Napster mike is hopefully selling his to me for $50... I have had people tell me prices that ranged from $50 to over $500. One guy quoted me $2500 not including shipping for a motor that had over 100k miles... I broke out in laughter after I found out he was serious.
In reality, the longblock with all acc is probably worth about $50 to $150 depending on condition/miles...

I think a perfectly ready long block to swap in is worth more then $50 - $150....but that's me....and I guess that's what I'm trying to find out.
If I'm only going to get that....I'll sell the bastard for scrap....it'll be less hassle for me.

I helped my friend swap a ej22 into his syncro vanagon - he paid $700 for an entire donor car ('90 legacy sedan with crapped tranny)
He pulled the motor and ALL of the harness, and then gave the shell back (part of the deal)
so, for a motor... $50 (way low) to $500 (high side) would be the range. Recent maintenance? low miles? all move price up.
(I'd love to get it for my '85 westy, but that project is for next year.)

I'd really like to have it, but you're kinda far from me. I'm sure shipping would be around $150, so if you'd take $100 that would sure make my day. This was a good running engine? I could put it to good use.

Yeah this was a very good running engine and religiously maintained engine....I've got all the maintenance records for it since 80k miles. It was owned by my grandfather before that since new, and mainly used it for driving between his house in Deleware and the company business in PA.
The motor had 182k when I took it out. Timing belt and all the seals were replaced less then 10k ago.
Here's a thread with the compression test #'s before I took it out

Binford, if you're truly interested, shoot me a pm, and we can work out the details.
