I made sure all 5 of my vehicles were filled with anti-freeze before this last cold spell. At least I thought I did. I might have forgotten my own wagon. damn.
Anywho, I drove today about 20 blocks, and when I got back to the house, the temp gauge was right about at the warm/perfect level, but NO HEAT!
I opened up the radiator and was able to put about 1/2 gallon into the coolent system. Then I drove around a bit, came back and was able to stick another 16 ounces or so in.....
Hmmmm
So I drove to Fred Myer (its 10 pm at this point), buy a gallon of real antifreeze, drain the radiator in the parking lot (its all water it feels like), fill it with antifreeze, and drive about miles on and off the freeway.
Radiator is full on the return......
God I hope I was just low!

Ugh, I didn't think to check mine before... heat has felt a little weak lately, I'd better do that.

I had some overheating problems recently and was all ready to replace my thermostat when I did what I should have done first: check the coolant level.
It was low, but didn't entirely fix the problem, as the new thermostat seems to have.
