So I finally got around to installing the Mike Yach DIY SS today. After pulling off the center console pieces I was surprised to find a very different lever installed.
PICS
Ive not been successful at finding actual comparison pics off of the forum and Im hoping one of you guys will remember from your tinkering.

not sure whats up with the one in the picture, unless those are post-fabrication pics.
In your pictures thats the OEM linkage for sure. On all the legacy turbo's I have dealt with they have looked exactly like that,
I was surprised at how clean and new it looked though.

That was one reason why I questioned the type. Even the retaining bolt was bright shiny gold!
The one in the writeup is the exact same as the one I bought off of another guy on this forum. It is supposed to the the stock unit with the fulcrum relocated and the top haft hacked off. Ill let you all know what he says. Maby its for a non turbo.

Your shift linkage is the old type. The 5 speed legacy's had two versions. Your type, and then the redesigned type (which you linked to).
I want to say they changed to the new version mid 92, but maybe it was 93. The other shifter you got will not fit in place. You'll need the newer linkage to make it work. You're stuck.

If you want to still swap linkages, I'd probably choose to convert to WRX linkage over the redesigned legacy one. If you read the sticky on the WRX shifter stuff, you'll get all the info you need. If it were me, I would definately go that route since once you have the WRX linkage in place, your shifter options become a lot greater.

Thanks for confirming what Ive seen in the threads. I do plan on a WRX linkage swap at some point, just thought Id use the moded lever to get by until I had more $$$$ Oh well.......
