I bought a set of K601M975 pistons A bore size of: 3.38385", 97.49mm.
With the ej22t bore of 96.9mm, this means i am going to have to bore it out to 97.5mm correct, or is there something i am missing here. Because i was under the impression that I WOULDN'T have to bore it out. Just want to know from people who have run these pistons.
Thanks

I took the smallest 2.2 bore they sell. They have 97.5 and 98mm.

what is the usual piston clearance ie what do stock pistons measure out to?

They don't sell "std" or standard bore for the 22t block. The thought process is that since that block is so old, you will HAVE to bore. They only sell "std" pistons for late model stuff, WRX, STi, etc. Because these are the "drop in" pistons. You get a new or slightly used block and don't need to bore it out.
You got a .20 oversize piston there so yes you will need to bore and hone to fit. Just bring your piston to the machinest with your block halves and tell him it is a turbo charged car. He will know a good piston to cylinder wall clearance.

I got std sized subaru oem ej22t pistons from crawford performance. They had a whole bunch when I ordered mine.

He's using Ej20H heads, so he wanted higher compression pistons due to the larger combustion chamber...

yes, what matt said. I took it to a shop and am have the cylinders bored. $120.
I am also having them do a CC check on head. I have been having a hard time finding one certain CC reading. I know they are pretty much the same as the ej25 phase 1 head, but i want to make sure.

Please post the CC's when you find out. There's been a lot of debate around the actual volume of those heads...

The head CC of the ej20H heads is 46cc.

i just got my wiseco pistons in to day .020 over. there so sexy cant wait to drop them in.
sending the block and pistons to the macine shop this week.
about boreing a old block, i have blown alot of pistons in my ej22t's and i never had to bore the block once. the block is so strong there is no need ( only if your changeing pistons to over size ones ).

The same goes with all subaru engines, i have seen engines go for over 200,000 and need nothing more than a light honing.
