While swapping a tranny, should I do anything else?

I am putting a WRX drivetrain (minus front axles if they will fit) in a '92 SS. I am wondering, while I am in there...is there anything else I should get? Would finding a used WRX short-shifter assembly be a good idea? Any bushings, etc? Just wanna 'do it right the first time.'

Shifters are easy to change with the tranny in so it doesnt really matter

Definately do your rear oil seals tho

Where are the ROS located? Easy to do?

Theres one around the crankshaft, and one behind each cam.

Relatively easy.... if you dont have one already get a haynes manual

Hmm, does it require opening the block?

I think if you are swapping in a wrx trans it would be the perfect time to switch to a wrx shifter given that the attachment point at the trans is slightly different than the SS. it sort of doesnt make sense NOT to. also get some poly shifter bushings and/or homebrew a solid body-shifter mount out of plastic or a rod end joint.

also I'd say only do the oil seals if they are actually leaking. if they arent dont even look at em the wrong way.

They prolly are leaking. I have no idea how to do that though.
