With those symptoms you describe...I am going to guess that it is most likely head gaskets...

The white smoke is from coolant being burned in the cylinders, and it is getting there most likely through the head gaskets.

i read in hear that the white smoke comes from the exaust when the headgasket is blown but mine comes from the hood scoop and the wheel wells.

then maybe you have a coolant leak under the hood. You should be able to tell what is leaking from the smell. All of the fuids smell pretty different.

Oh...I assumed you meant white smoke from exhaust...

Sounds to me like you have a burst coolant hose somewhere

check and see if your oil dipstick smells a bit sweet

Does it only smoke when the water is hot? Then check the Cap from the coolant reservoir, they like to malefunction and then they dont open under pressure and leak.
And the cooler unit likes to leak at the plastic part where the hose goes right into the motor block. If u stand right before it, at the left side.

well the first time it happened i pulled over right away and poped the hood and yes coolant did spray from the cap not the reservoir cap though but the one on top. When I just let the car run after a while there is very little smoke and no coolant is sprayed, some one suggested that i might have a small leak in the raidiator.

Hm, i have a EDM model, maybe there are some differences in the cooling system.

I mean the chrome cap on the left side, that cap should open under pressure in the system, and then the water can flow through the radiator, before that, i uses just the small curcuit. Those caps like to leak.
Is there a similar system in the 2.2 T?

Yeah, except the tank with the cap is located about where your IAC valve is.

Sorry, what does IAC mean?

Idle Air Control. Our US turbo cars put the coolant tank over there just to the left of where your intercooler is.

Liger,
You need to start the car up and get it up to operatiing temps. Do NOT remove the cap. Wait until it starts blowing smoke and then tell us EXACTLY where it's coming from. There's a lot of places the lines could leak. Also, check the cap and tell us what pressure it lists. Many times people put too high of a replacement cap on there that messes things up...
