Well I got a Mazda Pro5 a few months ago... ran ok but was kinda bad on gas and not that fast at all (engine ran loud too). So i got the oil done and new K&N drop in filter. Helped a little. The Auto tranny oil was a dark so i had that changed (odd for 56,000km) So i did an engine spray cleaner thing. One of the Kleeno compression chamber cleaner kits. (did this on my 93 SS work GREAT but it was also driving by my nana for 7 years)
Did the kit and the cars runs great now fast and pepy BUT now i have an engine light WTF... Im going out to by an OBD2 scanner any ideas befor i do that?

Knock sensor possibly. Did it misfire a little after the cleaning from the water?

well it sure was a bitch to get running again. U spray the hole can in while the engine is on. once the can runs out turn off engine. wait 5-10min then start. take car for 5km drive.
Thing is after having the engine off for 5min its a bitch to get started. Lot of stalling and not wanting to start at all... But after that it runs great... but for the engine light... If it is the Knock what do i do about it?

It's not Subaru-related, so I'm putting this in the Ashtray.
If it's the knock sensor, replace it
What about the O2 sensor?
If I get a chance tomorrow, I'll dig up the part number for the knock sensor.

Go to Autozone or somewhere to check the codes. If it's a knock sensor, get them reset and it should go away. I'm thinking the treatment caused misfires which triggered the knock sensor.

Part number for 02 Protege5 knock sensor is FS7N-18-921A, list is $150.87. We've never sold one at this dealership though, so it's not a common replacement item.
