Yup, lost the latest.
I "think" I ran lean, thats all I can guess.
Wagon was FAST, sounded great, NEVER knocked like I am used to, and never faltered at all.....Until the last run where I had leaned it out some, and the piston(s) went up!
They even had to shut the track down to clean up my oil. I did drive it home though, lots of smoke!
I blew it at 24 psi or so.

I feel like saying "sorry for your loss"
But, at the same time, Im wondering what you're going to pull out of your sleeve for the next motor

Need to adjust your signature to something like
"One Turbocharger + One supercharger = One blown motor"
You sir, are the definition of insanity, and that's not a compliment.

Sniff......
Motor is ready to pull..... All I have to do is hook the engine hoist up. Should be running by next weekend if I get the headgaskets in.

Heres my slips.
both impressive. the 14sec one I spun both 1st and 2nd all the way to redline. My 1/8 trap speeds were only 81-84 mph! I gained 25+ in the last 1/8th!
And the motors out!

Just curious, have you been using used or new pistons?
Everything else in the bottom end clean? Thats a large chunk out of that piston to still have everything else intact!!!

Used.
AMAZING clean.
There is some 1" wide scuff marks on the top of the cylinder wall, but you can still see the original honing marks through it!

Wow. When you do things right, you do them right, including taking out a piston...
Sorry to hear you lost another motor but congrats on the 1/4 time. I look forward to seeing what you do on the next.

It really is amazing how tough the cylinder walls are.... Judging from just the piston skirt I would otherwise be inclined to think that cylinder would be damaged pretty bad. It looks like the piston skirt took some of the broken metal and scratched it against the cylinder wall.

If you didn't have any noise when this happen....you more then likely had pre-ignition.
What cylinder is that?

It looks like with your trap speed, you should be good for a mid 12 at least.
