My engine requires extensive work so I'm just going to replace it. Would it
be possible to replace my non-turbo 2.2 L engine with the 2.2 L turbo model?

Sure It is a bit of work though I have a 2.2 turbo in a '95 Impreza
and did the work. What you will need is te 2.2 turbo ECU and the
control solenoids and sensor some exhaust mods and the front
crossmember will have to be changed and some additional wires will
be needed for the solenoids and the sensor. I am running a heavy
duty clutch with a hyd. cyl. stronger motor and trans. mounts but the
turbo Legacy mounts should work also. There are a few other things
that I am sure that you will run in to that I have forgotten. If you
decide to do this and I can be of any help just ask.
