basically Im asking for your guys imput on this... I have a friend who races stock cars and has 2 black 4 point harness's taht are expired... he is willing to pretty much give them to me... I plan to get this car working fairly good for summer, intercooler, manual boost controller, exhaust, short throw, etc... I was just wondering if with these harness's at such a good price along with a set of racing seats if it would seem to "ricer" or if I should go for it... and how exactly would I go about mounting these

No, harnesses are so much nicer for performance driving...they actually hold you in the seat lol
Go for it!!

yeah especially if you like things like compression fractures and submarines. And also death.

Unless you have a rollcage, a harness could actually perform more harm to your body in a roll-over senerio. It forces your body to remain upright and you would pretty much be crushed. Where as a 3pt seatbelt allows your body to lay over if needbe.
However, no, it would not be ricey... unless of course you got the NOS strap covers too.

You also risk submarining. Something that lots of people don't think of. Sliding under the belt.
That's the point of 5 or 6 point harnesses. To keep you actually in the seat. I didn't think there were ANY FIA certified 4-point harnesses.
I've got a G-force 3" camlock FIA certified 6-point belt in my garage. For a while, it was the only lap-belt I had in my Legacy, and I was amazed at how much better they were than the stock belts.

I'd run the 5th belt too. But not without a roll cage/bar at the minimum.
I got the 6-point so I could avoid possible ball severage.

....who knows what Ill do... I need seats to go with them first

... not to mention that I have 4 bald tires and need paint... so I guess my belt ideas going to have to wait a month or 2

I happen to race shifter karts (no seat belts - you want to be thrown), but I use almost every piece of safety equipment possible....
I would NEVER even consider using a 4 point harness - total garbage - even with a rollcage... You need the crotch belt, and you NEED a roll cage or at the very least some sort of roll bar....
