Item - TWE EL headers

Breakdown of timeline and dialogue between the seller and I:

March 12 - Item Won

March 14 -

Me: I'm wondering what the status is on this item. I noticed that some of your other items were doing to be delayed in shipment, but I saw nothing about it on the headers.

Him: i should have it in about one week then i will overnight it to you ups.

March 22 -

Me: Will it ship this week?

Him: i will have it to you next week and i will send it express mail at no extra charge.

March 29 -

Me: Any news on this item? Shipped yet?

Him: I WILL HAVE IT FOR YOU ON TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY. SORRY FOR THE DELAY. I WILL SEND YOU THE TRACKING NUMBER ONCE I SHIP IT EXPRESS UPS.

April 4 -

Me: An update on this?

Him: Sorry I am trying to find a box that it will fit in since it is an awkward shape.I will have it to you the beginning of next week. I apologize for the delay.

April 10 -

Me: Were you able to find packaging for the headers?

Him: yes, you will have it this week, i will send you the tracking number shortly. i am very sorry for the delay

April 11 -

Me: Do you have a tracking number for the package?

Him: *Tracking Number*

Item was shipped today, April 12th, UPS Ground. It's been a month, and although he's responded promptly to my inquiries and given plausible excuses for delays, I will not get the headers for another week or so, at best.

I don't want to be a jerk, and I don't think he's shipping them slowly on purpose, but I'm really kinda pissed that he didn't hold up that end of the deal. He mentions express or overnight shipping three times, yet it's going the slow way.

Negative, Neutral or Positive feedback?

ya thats weird. me and my dad used to do ebay stuff all the time. i think the best would be to put a neutral feedback saying something like. prompt replys but slow shipping, hard to hold a deal.

somthin like that i guess.

Hmm, things do happen so I'd say neutral at worst. I wouldn't give negative feedback.

I'd wait to see how the headers llok before posting feedback though....

I asked him why he didn't send it faster and his response was:

sorry man you should be happy you got it so cheap.
overnight was too expensive

Ok, I am happy I got it cheap, because I did. I also understand that a header is 1) heavy and 2) large. Still, don't say that you're going to do one thing then just don't, without an excuse or explanation beforehand. I sold my WRX brakes to a member in Oregon, 70lbs, and the shipping was a significant part of the price.

Neutral, with a tilt toward positive. We'll see how "mint" they are when I finally get them.

Well

Since he tried to atleast be curtious although slow. I would definitly say nuetral cuz he wasnt an ass but wasnt really prompt.

It all depends on the condition of the item at hand.

Atleast my $.02

I'm far more ruthless when it comes to feedback. Don't put it on e-bay if your not going to be prompt. Sometimes things DO come up, and you just have to use discretion as to what you believe and what you are skeptical about. As a seller, he should have taken the hint that you wanted them asap, and should have accomidated a bit.

Wait until he gives you feedback though. There are vendors like SSAutochrome who will give you negative feedback JUST for giving them negative feedback.

Were they new or used?

Wait to receive them, and at best give him neutral feedback. If they are damaged or poorly packaged, I'd leave negative feedback. Especially if the item isn't as advertised.

They were used, from a BH turbo project he was parting out with tons of engine, suspension and body parts.

He gave me feedback a month ago, so I don't much have to worry about that, but we'll see.

He is at the breakpoint. If there as anything funny of fishy about the header when you get it, that would be a negative.

He has something like 4 strikes against him right now. Lying/not honoring his word is not good. Its not your fault at all about how much it sold for on e-bay. I've taken some really big losses on shipping at times, it happens. Price of doing business. He could have waited the year or two it would have taken to sell it locally, no one forced him to put it on ebay!

VERY unproffesional IMO. He gave you the run-around. Then coming back with a snide comment like that. I vote NO MERCY

I vote neutral, but negative if they arrive messed up.

wait till you have them on the car and making boost for a few days before giving feedback so you have time to make sure they are not cracked and are sealing well at the heads.
I'd give neutral if they work OK and negative if not.

Negative. Telling someone they'll have the item they paid for in about a week, then jerking them around for a month? If he didn't have the item in hand, ready to box and ship, he shouldn't have even listed it until he did.

Making boost eh? That'd be nice :P

They should be here Thursday.
