There are less than 1000 RS-RAs in existance

They are a massively different car

I have a 1990 Japanese Legacy brochure/catalog, but it's in, well, Japanese :) Couldn't tell you specifics, besides the attention-to-perfection.

Yea
while shuffling through Rslibertyclub threads I came across youre build thread with a RSRA motor which is part of the reson I asked.

So any specifics on the differences? Even between them and the RSR's?

RS-RSs have hand-ported heads, high lift high duration cams, forged pistons, sodium filled exhaust valves, oversize intake valves, a higher revlimit (7500 I believe), stiffer suspension, different gear ratios, different steering wheel, gold valve covers and intercooler...

Ive probably missed a bunch of stuff.

Well you're basically comparing the nicest appointed BC legacy (the liberty RS) to the RS-RA which was built for performance only.

The rs-ra wasn't meant to look sexy, it wasnt meant to be comfortable, it wasnt meant to optioned up, it wasnt even meant to be street friendly.

The liberty RS was a VERY nice car, even by todays standards its quite the car. Just look at all the mint examples on the liberty board.

Put simply, the rs-ra was the impreza sti of the time, and the liberty was the legacy 2.5gt.

A sliver of info. My EJ20G came with what appears to be a variable assist PS pump. It is a Legacy EJ20G as it has a black AWIC. Another interesting thing is that it has no canister purge solinoid.

Did the RS-Rs come in Automatics? Did other models come with the variable assist?

My searching has turned up very little.
