here is someone I know that went out of control, and totalled his almost $30k 06 WRX limited. All I will say is, to be careful, and know the roads you "race" on(or go to a god damn track!!!)

Sad thing is that those wheels don't look bent, so they'll probably go on to kill another subaru.

What happened? Did he miss a turn?

Do you have access to the parts from that thing? There's a few things I'd be interested in...

hit a boulder around a turn on an unfamiliar road, on the wrong side of the road, while racing. At least that's what is being said.

Yeah, I agree - idiot behavior makes this happen...

BUT if you want a good laugh look at the TireRack ratings for this tire. Solid 4's across the board...

The RE92 is a good tire, espically in the snow. For your average driver, it's a great tire.

For your first AWD car, it's a great tire. It breaks away nice and clean, and it slides VERY audibly.

If you drive like an idiot, and don't know what your doing, you'll crash.

If you can't drive, you can't blame the tires.

yeah those wheels are ghey, look like something someone would run on a saturn with a mismatching body kit and towel rack wing.
I also like the re92's because they are dirt cheap and a pretty well rounded tire. I'm on my 4th pair. seems like every now and then some wrx guy is giving them away. I wouldnt say they are great in the snow but they can keep you on the road. honestly, what do you really gain out of .2 more g's worth of tire from a street car? dont mean to open a can of worms or anything but if you are driving at the limits of re92's on the street, that is still pretty damn fast in the scheme of things. being on the edge of traction at 50pmph in a given turn rather than 60mph on tires that are $150/corner is enough for me. and I agree with phil, my fav part is how they transition from grip to loose pretty nicely. the main thing I dont like about em is the shitty sidewall where you have to run over 40 psi to keep em from rolling over readily.

I prefer tires that break away progressively. As usual, I'm more old school and I like to drift a car around turns (but not actually be a 'drifter') a little and balance it myself rather than just buying mechanical grip. Cheap tires also allow you to do stupid movie stunts.
