Has anybody figured out how to prevent getting drenched while smoking a cigarette in the rain? I know you can buy those plastic wing things that go on side of the window, but those are gay and there has to be another way. No rhyme intended.

Well if u can get a aircompressor and make something that will blow pressure when the window is down, it will blow the rain away. OR you can stop smoking, thats probably your best bet XD

Hmmm, that's true, to stop smoking would be my best bet. Using an air compressor? You mean like creating cabin pressure in a plane? Any other ideas? Is there some kind of trim piece that could be hidden in some way?

I just don't open the window as far. Just enough to pull the smoke out. Having the HVAC fan on high would probably help with the "positive pressure".

well, you can make a clear plastic piece that seats kind of flush and doesn't stick out looking kind of stupid.

Ok, we've established that smoking is not good. The Surgeon General told me that a long time ago, but thanks.

Well lets diagnose the problem first;

1)Its raining
2)Window is down
3)Somehow the water enters the car thru the open window and gets you wet
4)You want to continue smoking.

Well now that the main components are clear there is only one viable alternative to not getting wet while its wet and the window is down; wear a rain coat.

Does your car have a sunroof?

I wish. I'm just gonna go with the easiest route, roll down the back window and ash in the ash tray. Wooooo! good weather is finally here! :-D I'll get my window bracket fixed before it rains again, then I won't have to fight it all the time.

just wondering, why not NOT smoke when it rains?

Lmao. I live in Oregon. I think when my window is fixed all will be well. My local jy wants $50, they don't sell just the bracket, you have to buy the whole damn thing. I'm just gonna jimmy rig it.

you could try to fit one of those things that people put on truck windows so they can crack it with out getting blasted by wind

i cant remember what they are called though :(

I know what he is talkng about. Not rain drops, but there is a veritable river that flows into the cabin in the rain! It comes in right at about head level on the A pillar. The water comes right across the pillar and pours into the car!! I have NEVER seen this before on any car. It is vedry very annoying.
The only thing I can think of is obviosly, some slim rain garuds and make sure they seal tight against the body. I'd actually like some rain gaurds just for the looks of them, even if this problem didn't exist.

That, or a fat ass bead of black caulk along the seal of the galss/side of the pillar may prevent water from running over it and force it either up or down the pillar.

You could convert your driver window to lexan plastic glass or even bulletproof glass. Cut a small hole for the cigarette, and even have a built-in ash-tray for the hole so you can rest your cigarete there.

FYI Smoking is very filthy habit. Why do you hate yourself so much?

Wait -- hold up -- those plastic wing things that go on the side of the window like to have sex with other plastic wing things of the same gender? How do you know?

I believe that's exactly what he's saying. I just watched a documentary on plastic wings and their mating habits on the Discovery Channel.

It was quite intriguing...

How do they reproduce then?

The homosexually inclined rain wings are progressive enough to shed the conservative gender roles that our oppressive society advocates and incidentally posess the intellect required to artificially inseminate DNA splices of the same sex DNA into a host plastic rain wing thing, thus advancing their genetic lineage into immortality!!!

So why, then, wouldn't one want them on one's car?

The only conclusion I can think of is that one who was a homosexual himself/herself and had not yet "come out of the closet," would not want to put the homosexual plastic wings on their own car in fear of their sexuality being revealed to the rest of the population.
