i bought a whole JDM 89 legacy auto sedan about 2 years back but dont remember if the heater was working properly then or not. now i have a converted GX wagon with a turbo.

now when set the climate control to 32 in manual mode.. heat comes out. when i set it anything below 32.. ie 31.5 down to 18.. cool air comes out.

my wagon orignially had a JDM S1 climate control unit faca.
friend gave me a JDM S2 unit that worked in his wagon to control heat from 18 to 32, but not for heat in mine.. so i know it is not the control head unit.
Picture as bellow:

i came across a item while checking that everything was plugged in properly for the heater system.. came across the "Thermosensor Controller" which is screwed to the side of the centre dash behind glove box under the heater unit next to cd-player. Can these die, can a new one be purchased?

has anyone come across this problem b4?
j have the wiring info that legacy777 posted.. head units look different, but will have a tinker with the multimeter.

I don't know much about the Legacy system but I had an old Mercedes with a similar system. The sensor had a vacuum pump that sucked air through the grill on the side of the controller unit and then sampled the temperature inside the dash somewhere. The intake fan was dead on mine and so it did a terrible job of controlling the temperature because it didn't read the cabin temperature properly.

I would guess the Subaru system works in a similar way.

you are prob better asking on the rsliberty boards. we only had the digi climate on the 90-91 lxi here. and those a very rare. i have two digi units one jdm s2 and usdm looks alil like the s1 but skeptical on the swap.
