ok some of you all may had read my post and know that i am new to cars, tunning and all that good stuff. So my question is before i start modding my 93 legacy L what should i read and where would i be able to read on it. I read about the coffee cup mod, i am lost on that one. I would like to make it a MT and change out the engine to a turbo and i want to put a intercooler on it. So if anyone knows stuff that i should read or any helpfull matteral

one thing maybe to work up to a engine swap level is just get a haynes or chilton manual ( I think haynes might be better, my chilton's is eh.) and do some of the basic repair stuff I imagine a $300 L would need.

And to answer your question, I would start by reading every single sticky in every forum as well as the whole first page of active threads. It may seem like a lot, but there is no quick course in becoming a Subaru sensei. It takes time and under the hood experience and patience...

I learned using the 'Deep end of the pool' method. Its not necessaryily the most convenient or the cheapest, but I think its the fastest... I think it only works for certain kinds of people though.

Break stuff. Lots of stuff. Break your transmission, break your engine, bust pistons, crack your rad...

Not all at the same time, mind you.

Break it, improve it, replace it... You learn fast, especially if its your only car.

Never replace a part with the OEM replacement. Struts gone? Put in aftermarket or Impreza struts. etc.
