New OBX EL's - 56kb beware

Well, I broke down and did it. I'm swapping engines back to my phase I EJ22 for time being and I'm slowly getting myself setup for the 2.5/22 hybrid. These'll be going on in a couple weeks. I paid ~$300 for them new and they arrived within a week. It's not all bent but the welds do look pretty good. I'm going to put just these on before doing my heads/cams so I can get a good feel of their gain.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Think you could post some rough dimensions of that resonator pipe, as far as the length and offset between the centers of the inlet and outlet?
I'll be buying one soon and it seems like it might be possible to bolt an extended WRX 3rd cat and back to that, which would keep a donut gasket and be ~2.25in all the way.

Sorry for being late on this response, life's been busy to say the least....
I got these from Spartek Motorsports -

Jamal - I'll work on getting you those numbers this weekend.

please forgive my complete lack of knowledge, but would these fit a 94 NA legacy?

They will fit up to any dual port exhaust EJ motor. So yes, they will fit up to a 94' NA. However, I won't make any garuentees about fitting up with the rest of your exhaust without minor modification.

The sound of EL headers grows on me daily. I really like the popping on decel, especially from a heel-toe downshift.
It sounds decidedly non-Subaru, but sometimes I don't think that's such a bad thing

Lee, Requesting photos of install and any mods you make it work with the exhaust AND sound/video files of it running.
Looks very nice!

Especially with all the riced-out WRXs running around.

:(:( no... This summer has been one adventure after the other and with everything going on and picking up my SS I haven't gotten the work done on my OBW that I wanted. Heck, I haven't even gotten my LSD put on and I have full axles and all

.
The other issue, and truthfully the largest reason it hasn't happened, is that my tranny is making more and more noise and it's not a good noise. My clutch also slips now when I have the car loaded down so I'm afraid the extra power is going to kill both my clutch and my tranny.
That said, everything that I've read and dyno graphs shows that these should add a good 15-20whp. The quality of them is great and it has been killing me letting them sit in the corner of my garage to see everytime I pull in/out.
So between putting money into my SS, being busy, not having the money to put into the clutch/tranny if/when it goes, and then taking the full day to swap my heads and all (current ones are single port, not to mention I want to cams at the same time = more $), it just hasn't happened.
But I do FULLY recommend picking these up. For the price I don't think you can beat them.
