does the G35 share it's platform with the Altima or the Maxima?

i always preffered the G35 coupe to the 350Z.

I think in the past they shared but Infiniti, although owned by nissan, doesn't share anything with nissan any longer. My 98 was basically a maxima with different front and rear end body styling.

The G is rwd. It's the FM platform along with the 350Z and Infiniti FX. The GTR will be on the same platform.

300zx's don't have VQ engines in them...

Mike, how is the G35 as a drivers car and how does it compare to your wagons?

Let me tell you, when you are behind the wheel you quickly forget that there are four doors on this thing. you can break the rear tires loose pretty easily and I'm constantly seeing the "slip" light flashing on my instrument cluster if I give it a little too much throttle going around a corner. Last night I gave a few of my friends a ride back to the ferry landing in providence and the whole lot is gravel. I shut off the VDC and when I was away from my friends car I proceeeded to completly slide the car around and do a 180 that ended in a halfway slide accross the parking lot that eventually straightened out. a few second later my friend calls me to tell me that her sister thought that was awesome lol. Another funny thing is when I test drove it I told the kid salemen that I was going to see if it had ball and could get the rear tires to break loose. I took a left at a redlight and had it sideways and the kid shit his pants lol. I told him not to worry that I was a proffesional drifter lol. Hey come on, i've seen fast and furrious tokyo drift like 20 times doesn't that count for something lmao!

As far as comparing it to the wagons, I'd have to say that I cant haul contrustion materials in it and there is no cool turbo swooshing sounds coming from under the hood. I have to say that I love my wagon and dont think I would part with it but this infiniti is soo damn nice that when I took the wagon to go to lowes to pick up some wood I was like "damn this car is looking tired"

That is correct sir.

Nice Mike, but an automatic?

A friend of mine got a sedan, and he's done quite a few mods actually. Headers, catback, the first G with a UTEC, plennum spacers, and a few other things. He's waiting until the wife isn't looking before he supercharges it.

lol, I'm not getting into the auto vs. the manual tranny, especially with you! I promise that when I get my carrera it will be a manual tranny, hows that?

*sigh* I GUESS thats OK.

I am a die-hard manual transmission fan, and I always will be. Though I can see the allure of an automatic in a highway cruiser like the G.

Isn't the current engine the VQ35DE, while the 300ZXes got the VG30DE?
