Legacy front clip interchange question, PLEASE HELP

My wife had a little oops in our '90 Legacy LS 4x4 Wagon today, took out the hood, drivers fender, core support, and lights on the drivers corner. Bumper is okay, but scuffed, and it looks like I can pull the core support back into shape . No damage into the suspension, drove it home, still drives fine. The wrecking yard I frequent has a '93 Legacy sedan with a nice front clip in the right color, but the interchange manual says it won't work.

Will the '93 front clip work if I get the whole thing including the bumper? Also, if I can't pull the core support back out will the '93 core support work? '90-91's are gtting scarce up here, and the yards that do have them want premuim prices for clean sheetmetal.

Any help, is appreciated, would hate to pass on the '93 sheetmetal if it will fit, or buy it if it won't...

If you change the core support it will work. I mocked this up when mine was hit in almost the same way yours was. I ended up finding a proper donor clip before any welding took place. I was glad because, even though I seem to be in the minority, I prefer the post-facelift looks.

It 'might' work without changing it, but I have yet to find somebody that has actually done it.

After finding another thread on this subject, and pic's to prove it can be done, I headed to the wrecking yard after work this morning to pull the clip, bumper, wiring harness, etc so I could start "fixing".
Guess what, they crushed the '93 on Monday. Dead straight, clean interior, 4x4, auto, was totally complete except for the inside door handles that I pulled last week. Owner basically said "I need cash, crush everything in this section. " car was there less than 3 days.

Don't you mean dammit or something? When your good luck runs bad, you don't have to blank out crap

Try car-part.com to see if you can find any other salvage leggy's around you.

There are a bunch of straight Pre-face cars in the yard in Salem, OR...it is a lil bit of a drive...but the place is cheap

What's the name of the yard in Salem?? There's also a Subbie only yard in Seattle that had the ABS unit I needed, Arron's or something like that?

I go thru Salem about once a month. I can give them a call and see what they have.
