I need legacy-central clever-ness for mounting

So i'm going to put my awesome 3 gauge pod on my A-Pillar... and it makes me cry inside when i think of drilling ANYTHING...

i want it to stay.... but i want to be able to take it out if i want....

and it has to affix itself well enough, so on hot days, i get into my car and its still there (like the "glue" or whatever i end up using doesnt dribble out, or let go)

i thought velcro, i thought double sided tape... but theres no good way, no CLEAN way to attach that stuff... and have it stay.... its gotta hold the weight of the 3 gauges and wires ect....

does anyone have a clever idea... besides just driling into the a-pillar? i just dont want to do it!!!

Why not get a replacement pillar trim piece? Then you can attach your pod to it in any way that you deem solid enough. Paint it to match then mount it using the factory devices.

thats a great idea, but i thought they were a BITCH and a half to get from a car... or to install...

is this not the case?

How about something that wraps around the pillar trim and clips on?

thats an interesting idea... somehow get plastic tabs or something that lock into each other....

i guess another question (to hijack my own thread) would be: how hard is it to find the trim piece (driver side, black, with auto-seatbelts) for our cars? as long as i knew i could put it back, i think that would make me a bit less weary
