hey guys if you could keep your eyes out for a used 300zx motor that would be great. my friend just broke the key way on his and the car is pretty much totaled . and he really could use a new crank or motor if you guys know of one. so if you guys hear of anything just pm me that would be great. thanx.

If the crank is toast anyway, he can just get the pulley welded onto the shaft.

key way busted but he is weary of having it welded on or jimmy rigged

Whats the worst that could happen?

Pulley comes off, he loses power steering and alternator. He can drive it a few miles before it dies.

It'll do until he can source a new engine.

Is it turbo or nonturbo?

Either way, it's gonna be hell to find a good engine, and you're gonna pay an assload of money for it too.

And even if I had a bunch of time on my hands, I wouldn't dare attempt to swap out a turbo engine. It's a pretty common consensus that a Z32TT engine bay is quite possibly the most un-home-mechanic-friendly known.

no its a non turbo, but even then the engine bay is still so so tight...im just keeping a eye out for a buddy they key way busted on the crank. he is not a performance guy at all. he just wants his car to run right

They always have em...and I have dealt with them before, and am very impressed with their stuff.

Honestly, if he's not a performance guy, then he might just want to get rid of the car altogether.

Z32's are pimp cars, but if you don't have 1) patience, and 2) money, they're probably not worth your time.

I hate working on Nissans - everything's overpriced and a PITA to replace. I loved them until they stopped calling themselves Datsun.

My roommate has a Fairlady Z

I refuse to help him work on it. I took one look at the engine bay and all I could see were strut towers and an intake manifold. Everything else is underneath it.

cya @ that
