Hey everyone I thinking about going to look at a 91 turbo auto legacy, it says 2nd slips. What should i look for to see if the tranny is going bad or if some quick fix is all it needs. Just hope my parents don't freak :( They are asking for $1200can does it seem worth it?

That looks like a pretty nice car...and even if the auto is shot...$1200cdn is a pretty decent price for a 91 SS that isn't totally trashed...

And it just gives you an excuse to swap it to manual :D

Lol just do a tranmission fluid change(used dextron 3) and see if it stops slipping. Then try some seafoam. If neither work, just get a tranny swapped. There is a JDM shop in Missisuaga that can swap it out with a tranny that has low mileage. Might want to just do the 5MT swap though.

PS: my dad likes that car josh you better watch out :-D

that thing has the beginnings of a lot of rust in all the usual places.

and judging by that flat/low tire it hasnt moved recently and there is a pretty big fluid stain on the concrete under the car in the forst picture.

could be a fine car or it could be a giant headache. i would lean towards headache myself.

mmhmmm, don't really see the oil stain in the first pic. When he goes it is the only real way to see if there are any issues. Definitly right about it looking like it was sitting. Probably fine as he is going to tow it. So he can change all fluids.
