what kind of hook up do you need?
im not sure about laptops but i know that most newer desktops do not have serial ports for hooking up accessories, its all USB

what price are you looking for, you know you can get a brand new bottom end Dell for $500

So I found this old school toshiba in the trash yesterday.
It works. It has just enough to run the scan tool. It even has windows 98 on it!

You might need a new battery, that's really the only downside of these older laptops. I need a battery for my old HP that I use for my scan tool. It's only $30 on eBay.

I've got a power cord for it. My problem is I don't know how to go about getting the right cable to hook it to my car. It has the old printer port on it. Do I have to build my own cord, or does someone make them?

I built my own as most people do, I don't think there's anyplace that sells them.
