Yea, insane. I lived about 1 mile from there when I was at the UofM.
Called all our friends today, and they are alright.
hope for the best for the missing... but it doesn't look good

I was thinking about this happening in Boston, especially with the Longfellow Bridge being declared in need of billions to fix just a couple days before this happened. It's amazing more people weren't killed. A rush hour collapse to the 93 overpass here (maybe a close equivalent) would kill hundreds or more. Scary stuff, especially when this extensive infrastructure is aging and in need of more and more money from smaller and smaller budgets. This could really happen anywhere.
But we're building bridges in Iraq so they can just blow them up the next day.

Yeah, if only we spent the same amount of tax dollars on infrastucture here as we do in Iraq. But, Iraq is about the size of PA.
