97 Legacy Shutters when I take off

My old lady has a 97 AWD, automatic. I just replaced the front wheel bearing after she trashed them going over a curb. That got rid of the vibrating. Now when I take off from a stop the rear kind of shutters. It makes a thud-thud-thud until I get, say past 5-10 MPH. I checked the u-joint in front of the rear diff and they were tight, but I could rotate the driveshaft cw and ccw quite a bit. Any one got any ideas. She's getting frustrated and want to sell it, but I'm trying to get her to keep it, the thing runs excellent with a 175k on it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Can you shake the driveshaft left to right?? If so probably just a bad carrier bearing.

No, its solid. If it was the carrier bearing wouldn't it vibrate at higher speed?

Ya thats true. Could still be a bad CV in the rear.
