Hi. I was just wondering what could be causing this issue I am having. Previously my OEM exhaust sounded quite loud. This exhaust (non oem) sounds the same as well. Almost sounds like its misfiring as you accelerate from outside. From inside its not to bad but howls alot when your cruising. Could this be a issue with the motor? Or I just need to buy a OEM exhaust new.

Stock 2.2L's with stock exhaust are quiet. In traffic, I could almost never hear the engine when stopped. If you have that loud of a sound, I think that you may have a problem. OEM equipment is not a solution.
Take a video with sound and do it so we can hear the engine - what you think is loud may not be as loud as you think.

now i know i have a turbo legacy and it looks like you have a n/a one.
but my engine/ exhaust noise it surprisingly loud for a stock exhaust. it has a good boxer rumble at idle and part throttle. so it coul dvery well be just that the old exhaust was really worn out and had holes in it/ no packing left in the muffler or w/e.

I have two 91 turbos, one 5-speed, one auto. One stock, one not. The stock one is quiet until I drop the hammer, then it snarls and gets faily noisy. The other is full 2.75 de-cat TBE, and that Mf-er is LOUD. It sets off car alarms, gets me tickets, and makes anyone around want to race me. Which one does yours sound like?

Now you say non-OEM do you mean a big coffee can looking ricer or is it like a walker or auto parts non-OEM replacement system? If it is the latter then you could need a new cat or downpipe. If it sounds like a misfire then it could be misfiring and could need a full tuneup and or exhaust manifold.
